Service Description
Wild New Forest are offering a year of monthly adventures for young people (ages 8 - 16) exploring the wildlife and habitats of the New Forest. Each month we will explore different areas of the New Forest looking at seasonal wildlife. Provisional timetable of activities below (these are likely to change as we move through the year): Jan 21st @ 1400 – Coastal birding (Normandy Marsh) Feb 18th @ 1400 – Beaulieu River Boat Trip Mar 18th @ 0900 - Migrant Birds (Needs Ore) Apr 15th @ 1400 – Flora/Mammals (Eyeworth Wood) May 20th @ 0900 – Bird song (Milkham) Jun 17th @ 1400 – Butterflies/Dragonflies (Beaulieu Heath) Jul 22nd @ 1400 - Invertebrates (Whitefield Moor) Aug 19th @ 1400 - Trees (Millyford Bridge) Sep 16th @ 0700 - Bird Ringing (Keyhaven) Oct 21st @1400 – Woodland Fungi (Millyford Bridge) Nov 18th @ 1400 – Heathland Fungi & Devils FingersFungi (Setley) Dec 16th @ 1400 – Xmas walk/bioblitz (Wilverley Plain) Each event will last for 2 hours and will take place on the third Saturday of each month. Each walk will be led by a DBS checked leader, children can be dropped off and collected from the advertised meeting point.
